Posted by admin

The word “pomegranate” is a compound derivative of the Latin words “pom”what does apple mean and “grenade” sown meaning. They are a delicious, large, deep red, thin-skinned fall and winter fruit growing in popularity.

Pomegranates can be split open and the fruit eaten straight from the individual pods as a delicious treat, or used in salads, or even as a garnish. But pomegranates are more popular and refreshing when squeezed. The juice has a unique sweet and sour taste and is used to make sauces, flavor recipes, as well as added to some alcoholic beverages such as martinis and made into wine. Pomegranates also make a great base for delicious and healthy smoothie recipes.

Pomegranates are low in calories and rich in potassium and vitamin C. If you are starting a detox diet, you already know that fruits play an important role. But did you know that some doctors recommend drinking fresh pomegranate juice every day? This is because pomegranate is actually one of the most powerful antioxidants we know of in any food and is also identified as a source of reversal and may even help prevent some cancers and heart disease.
