The University of Illinois has the largest Greek population in the country: more than 95 organizations with 6,850 members, representing 22% of the student body. Members are involved not only in their organizations, but also hold leadership positions within the Student Government and play an integral role in the community. Most Greek organizations at Ole’ Miss require members to participate in a certain number of service hours each semester, in addition to chapter responsibilities.
6) University of Georgia
The University of Georgia hosts over 61 chapters for Greek men’s and women’s organizations, comprising 23% of the student body. UGA is known among Greek organizations across the country for having some of the most beautiful sorority and fraternity houses in existence, including Victorian and Greek Revival mansions. Many members of UGA chapters are legacies, so history is very important to them. Rush can be very competitive and the social scene is booming every night of the week. In other words, Greek life in Georgia is not for the faint of heart.
