The Ayurvedic way of treating PCOS

Posted by admin

Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India thousands of years ago. In the Western world, Ayurvedic treatments are considered CAM or Complementary Alternative Medicine. Although CAM is not the conventional way of curing the body of any pain or illness, it is definitely gaining popularity these days.

One of the most requested Ayurvedic treatments is PCOS Ayurveda or the natural way to cure PCOS. This condition is believed to be caused by a hormonal imbalance in a woman’s body that leads to irregular menstruation, facial hair growth, acne, oily skin, obesity, and overproduction of androgens.

Although conventional medicines have treatments for the condition, many patients turn to PCOS Ayurveda or natural treatments because they are not only effective but also much safer and cheaper.

Ayurveda links the causes of PCOS to excessive consumption of kaphagic foods, or foods that are juicy and sweet. These foods overwhelm the digestive tract with sugar and fluid, weakening it in the process. Ayurveda also believes that PCOS may be due to emotional “softness” due to a person’s lack of love or low intrapersonal intelligence.

However, when there is a problem in the kapha, the symptoms inevitably appear on the outside. Some of these symptoms are: weight gain and hair growth on unusual parts of the body. These symptoms may be followed by a noticeable decrease in appetite and some pain during the ovulation period. So, menstrual periods can range from being very heavy to not coming at all. In some women, their menstrual cycles become unusually long or unusually short.

The kapha pattern is best controlled through diet. This is why it is very important that you watch the food you eat if you suffer from PCOS. Remember that diet is an integral part of your overall health. PCOS can be eliminated or aggravated by the foods you eat, so you need to be equipped with the knowledge to choose your ingredients. Basically, garlic, onion and green vegetables are beneficial for PCOS sufferers. Whole grains are great too. However, you should stay away from dairy products and red meat as they can worsen your condition.

Now some of the known Ayurvedic herbs for PCOS are Saraca root and sesame seeds. They can be taken every day from the second week of your ovulation cycle to the first day of your period. On the first day of your menstruation, you may find it helpful to take Punarnava and Triphala as well. These herbs are great for the liver because they can detoxify the liver and make PCOS treatment much more effective. Other common supplements used are Sapthasaram qwath tablet, Sukumaram Rasayan, Eranda Sukumaram, Rajapravardhini Vati, Hyponidd, M2 tone, Tila qwath, and Vaiswanara Churna.

You need to understand that PCOS Ayurveda or the natural ways to treat PCOS involves curing yourself completely. That is, your body must maintain its balance in an integral way. You must live in a healthy environment and you must maintain a healthy lifestyle. You may find some relief when you use isolated remedies such as herbs, but they alone will not cure you completely.
