The 7 Wonders of MLM: Steps for Your First Week in Your Home Business

Posted by admin

I recently spoke with some of my colleagues and answered their questions about getting started in their home-based businesses. As soon as we got off the phone, I did some research and realized that there isn’t as much information out there for those of us new to Network Marketing as you might imagine. Often many of the gurus guide and direct us toward our first million, and beyond. And that’s wonderful. But for me, when I started, I was anxious and nervous and looking forward to earning my first $100 or $500 in our great industry.

The other point of view is that most solid companies in the MLM industry provide excellent training for their new reps, and that is true. But sometimes, it’s nice to hear information outside your company walls, so to speak, so let’s get to work.

So you’re a new representative. You signed up for your home business today or yesterday, or if it was a week or a month ago, then you need to pretend that today is the first day of your business. Now here are the 7 Wonders of MLM. I use the word “wonders” sarcastically in the sense that there is no substitute for action. But that’s just the point. Many of us suffer from the “Now what?” when we start. We prepare to prepare and talk to our upline and listen to calls and cheer each other on. But in the back of our minds and deep in our hearts, we’re not sure what we’re really supposed to do. So we think that if we act very enthusiastically and tell a few people we know, the business will come together. Bad news. That does not work. Good news. This is possible. Here are those 7 wonders:

1) Write down your WHY. It means what has you. Spend 10 minutes in complete silence with no interruptions thinking about why you commit to working for yourself from home despite the ups and downs, criticism and discouragement from time to time.

2) Complete the formation of your company. No matter how much you know about your product or service, take the training program. If it’s about listening to 10-hour long conference calls, go for it. If it’s a 10-foot binder full of product information that you’re supposed to read, then read it. The point is that we need to be trained to be successful in this industry, so go through the necessary training steps to learn more about your product and service.

3) Choose, create, write or copy a script. That’s how it is. We must use a script when we talk to prospects. Half the reason new reps put off talking to people is because they don’t know what to say. Half the reason people don’t join our business is that they think they couldn’t possibly know all the information the person on the other end of the phone is telling them, without knowing that the person introducing them is using a script. . use one. If you’re the master of the presentation, great, but chances are your team members aren’t.

4) Set a target date for your first income level or pin level. For example, “I will become Regional Sales Director on this date.” Or “I will have earned $500 in my business on or before this date.” Goals bring plans from the wish stage to the reality stage.

5) Set a schedule. Don’t roll your eyes. You must commit to once every day when you go to work. It can be 6 hours a day or 90 minutes a day, but promise yourself that you will show up. If you’re consistent with your schedule, consistency for prospecting and marketing will match your impeccable scheduling habits. When I started my business, I committed to working from 12 noon to 3 pm no matter what, Monday through Friday. These hours didn’t make me a millionaire because I had a huge learning curve. But they kept me interested, in the game, and winning a few bucks here and there.

6) Set your table. That’s right. Your business is a table, and the legs of your table are the marketing techniques you choose and apply over time to promote your products, services, and opportunities. For example, for your four marketing strategies, you might choose: place a small ad in the newspaper, distribute flyers, create a social media campaign, and participate in a leadership cooperative. Another representative could choose to: post free classified ads, hold small gatherings at home, create and maintain a blog, and purchase leads. The point is that all things work, only if you do them consistently and almost daily.

7) Start a personal development program. The great Jim Rohn said “to do more you have to be more”, so commit to personal development for 10 to 30 minutes a day. I recommend keeping it simple, like reading 20 minutes of Napoleon Hill every day or listening to 30 minutes of Dani Johnson CDs every day in the car, or something similar. I do most of my personal development work in the car by driving and waiting for my son while he does his various activities.

So now we see that wonders aren’t that great, but they work if you work on them. And in the next week or two, you’ll hopefully be referring your first of many new reps to this very article. So let’s begin…..
