Baylor’s win last weekend against the Texas A&M Aggies probably put it on the right side of the bubble for the first time in a while, though it’s by no means a place I want to be right now. The Bears will tell you that they should be in significantly better shape right now, and that they’ll need to put together at least two, if not three, more wins to feel good enough to dance.

At times, it really does feel like Lace Darius Dunn and Perry Jones III are running the whole club. Both men put up 16 in that Aggies upset at Waco. However, the two are capable of much, much more, especially knowing that Dunn only shot 5 of 16 from the field. They will have to take advantage of that reserve to win away from home against a team as good as this one.

The suspended bodies are really starting to pile up for the Cowboys, and this will likely be their demise when the time comes. Darrell Williams has already been suspended for his role in a sexual assault case in December, and now the team’s starting point guard, Ray Penn, has been sat out thanks to a team policy violation. All of this comes at a terrible time for Okie State, as it really needs this win and at least three more to have a chance of getting into the 68 field. If this one misses, the reality will be that the NIT is going to be the tournament. this year’s postseason.

However, if there is one man who can stop all this bleeding, it is Marshall Moses. Maybe if Ekpe Udoh was still here with the Bears, this would be a viable matchup, but Moses really should get away with it in the paint. He is averaging 14.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. However, it could be even more important that he is shooting 56.8 percent from the field, which is actually a good sign for a team that only makes 43.6 percent of its shots during the season.

This is the end of the road for the Pokes. Baylor just has a lot going for it right now, and it realizes it needs this road win to really help secure that ticket to the biggest dance of the year.
