Advanced Hypnotherapy: Not All Hypnotherapies Are Created Equal

Posted by admin

An excellent technique offers much better results.

Many people believe that hypnotherapy is a uniform treatment. However, different hypnotherapists use different techniques, and some techniques are better than others.

Hypnotherapists often hear people say, ‘I’ve tried hypnotherapy before. It didn’t work. However, what people often don’t realize is that just because hypnotherapy didn’t work for them with a specific therapist, it doesn’t mean hypnotherapy won’t work. It’s similar to saying “I went to school but I didn’t pass any tests, so the school doesn’t work.” It clearly depends on many factors, including the quality of teaching at the school and your commitment to learning.

The skill of the therapist and, more importantly, the specific techniques in which they are trained affect success rates. A good hypnotherapist with excellent technique will give much better results than those who use more basic methods.

Some hypnotherapy approaches and techniques are better than others.

Finding out which ones are the best is not easy because each hypnotherapist believes that their approach is the best. This can be difficult because many hypnotherapists assume that their client is cured, without checking a few months after hypnotherapy.

The problem with many of the quick cures, like the phobia quick cure, is that they are just that. They may seem to work after one session, but often that change is short term or doesn’t work at all and that of course is not a solution.

Also, some hypnotherapists weaken their therapy with other therapies such as CBT (behavioral therapy) and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). This is similar to using two or three different recipes for a cake at the same time: it may taste good, but it may not and you won’t know it until it comes out of the oven. Advanced specialized hypnotherapy is like following the best and tastiest tried and tested recipe. You leave nothing to chance, knowing that it will taste good every time you make it.

Clients want permanent changes and solutions to their problem. For a higher long-term success rate, specialized hypnotherapy is required.

suggestion hypnosis

Suggestion-based hypnotherapy is the most common hypnotherapy on the market. During hypnosis ideas or “suggestions” are given about new attitudes and behaviors. For uncomplicated problems, treatment may work well. However, the downside to suggestive hypnotherapy is that it may seem to work after one session, but because it doesn’t address the actual cause of the problem, it can manifest itself in other ways or return later.

Research indicates that suggestion works on about a third of all problems, except for clients suffering from paranoid schizophrenia or brain damage.

One of the largest scientific studies on the success of hypnotherapy was reported in New Scientist in October 1992(1). Comparing the success rates of smoking cessation therapies, 72,000 people were evaluated in 600 studies, and hypnosis was shown to be the most successful smoking cessation treatment on the market. Even the most basic suggestion hypnotherapy tapes worked far more effectively than any other treatment, including willpower, nicotine patches, and counseling. Suggestive hypnosis has been shown to have a worst-case 30 percent success rate, but it could double to 60 percent with a good, reliable therapist and good suggestion.

These success rates are impressive and significantly better than any other smoking cessation treatment on the market, including nicotine patches and Champix/Chantix. However, more specialized advanced techniques have been shown to be even more successful.

hypno analysis

Hypnoanalysis, also known as ‘free association’, is another technique that currently seems to be very popular. This approach can go deep into the inner mind and involves asking the subconscious mind to present information related to the problem.

However, problems can arise with this undirected approach. This is because it can also lead to more issues than the one the customer brought up. This can not only leave the client with more problems than the original, but can also establish an unhealthy dependency on the therapist.

Advanced hypnotherapy can be a permanent solution

When used correctly, advanced hypnotherapy can be a permanent solution because it requires a holistic approach to address the problem. An advanced hypnotherapist will have undergone specialized training and it is rare. The advanced hypnotherapist is trained to gain direct access to the subconscious mind and find the root of the problem. The problem can be addressed once the source of the problem has been found.

Like a skilled hacker, the Advanced Hypnotherapy Specialist removes the “mind viruses” that cause problems. When the ‘mind viruses’ are removed and the attitudes and behavior pattern are reprogrammed, the problem can be solved.

The success of hypnotherapy has been proven in thousands of academic research studies. One notable study was that of Von Dedenroth (1968), who found that 94 percent of more than 1,000 smokers who quit with hypnotherapy reported that they had not smoked for at least 18 months (2).

Advanced hypnotherapy using regression can work in just 3 to 7 sessions, compared to suggestion or hypnoanalysis which can take up to 20 sessions and still not be fixed. Advanced structured hypnotherapy involves following a set of specific protocols that approach the problem from all sides. The approach works with a client’s unique mental programs. It works with the parts of the mind that hold the problem in place and age regression to present information to help understand, solve, and treat the problem. Once the source of the problem has been dealt with, suggestion is used to lay the foundation for a new set of behaviors and attitudes.

Age regression is essential to ensure that the root of the problem is reached and treated permanently. It’s a specialized skill, but one that offers a long-term result for most people, most of the time.
