A look at the new Samsung Armani touchscreen phone

Posted by admin

If you thought Apple’s iPhone was the last word in the touchscreen market, both Armani and Samsung would like to do it. The electronics giant and the well-known designer have teamed up and created a truly designer phone. Say hello to Samsung Armani! This is the iPhone killer from the far eastern electronics giant. The phone has been available on the market since September 2007 and is available on most networks in Europe and the APAC region.

Samsung Armani is a tri-band GSM device. It has support for GSM 900/1800/1900 networks. The dimensions of this phone are very compact. At just 87.5 x 54.5 x 10.5mm, Armani is one of the most compact touchscreen devices available on the market. It weighs just 85 grams. The phone is equipped with a 2.6-inch screen. The screen has QVGA resolution and can display 256,000 colors. This is a TFT touch screen, so quality is not a compromise at all.

The Samsung Armani has support for polyphonic and mp3 ringtones. Some great ringtones are already loaded on the phone and you can ask for more. They would be available for immediate download by air. The phone also has vibration alert. The Armani phone book can have up to 1,000 numbers. The list of missed calls, dialed calls and received calls can have up to 30 entries each. The phone does not come with HSCSD support but it does support Class 10 GPRS and EDGE. Seriously, Samsung, what year are you living in, 2001? The phone does not have 3G or WLAN support!

The phone comes with 60 MB of built-in memory and also has a MicroSD (TransFlash) slot for more memory. Local connectivity is available via USB 2.0 connection and Bluetooth 2.0 connection with A2DP.
