Super Mustache Man (Fictional short story)

Posted by admin

Movies and comics are the real world of superheroes, but one man has fallen seriously in accepting the accolades and aspiring to perform heroic deeds. Mr. Motly couldn’t get enough of superheroes, so he thought a lot about how he would be like them. A weaver of dreams, as it fundamentally drew his subconscious mind to form creative information.

As the clock ticks down, Mr. Motly’s evocative mind has turned back time to his childhood days fueled by figments of the imagination. He remembered creating stories for all of his miniature plastic soldiers and would always fall back on dreams of flying from flapping his arms and feet. Growing up in a small town near a river where the many flows of life embarked and ended like the dramatic changes of the stunning waters in a pale river. Mr. Motly gave up the old days and has remarkably modeled a shaggy upper lip.

The greatest fear one has of living the rest of his life is living in increasingly dangerous times. The world seems to be in a vulnerable situation of consecutive violence: homicide, violence against children, women and the weak. As we live in a world where serenity is besieged by doubts because of man-made disasters like terrorism, mass murders, conflicts and a lot of violence committed against humans and not forgetting also natural disasters. They all struggle with fear, worried about the chances of indulging in such cruelty. Dangers lurk around every corner – where can you run for help?

Every day, Mr. Motly had thought about the helpless people who just needed a savior like a superhero. He argued that with advances in medicine and technology he would be able to succeed in portraying invincible superheroes. Mr. Motly also considered applicable drugs to enhance mental function and nanotechnology that can enhance his physical function. Mr. Motly made it very clear to himself to become a knight in shining armor for the weak. Mr. Motly trained so hard to build a stronger body. He perfected the slugfest and his kick; he practiced flawless moves to destroy hooligans. During long confined training, he developed beefy shoulders with Herculean strength. Once he gained confidence in his abilities, he began to contemplate his identity, what costume he would dress in as reminiscent of a superhero. Since Mr. Motley has elegant charisma in his mustache, he liked it to be exposed. He donned a powerful exoskeleton like armor suit under a black suit by combining it with an ascot cap and covering his nose area with a mask. His tactical pants combined with tactical boots. Only one weapon he chose to take with him was a pair of Arnis, a bladeless weapon made of flexible rattan sticks to disarm and subdue the enemy. Mr. Motly will use his abilities to counter daily crime and save the innocent.

At night, where crimes were normally committed, Mr. Motly would ride his motorcycle and observe the serenity of the place, keeping alert for someone to rescue him from a life-threatening situation.

The next morning, witnesses shared stories about a Good Samaritan with a hidden identity who had rescued a woman from her kidnappers. Witnesses described how the masked man shielded the woman from gunfire and how the unidentified man used his Arnis abilities to disarm and conquer the outlaws.

Every morning, stories about the masked man appeared all over the newspaper, revealing the heroic deeds. Many horrified hotel guests recounted a harrowing night when relentless gunfire from a gunman left them traumatized as a disinterested person walked in and led dozens to safety, eventually putting the gunman inside the prison cell.

The next night, when an apartment was on fire and about to collapse, the masked man pulled those trapped out of harm’s way. The mysterious man was seen hanging around with the street children showing magic tricks to entertain and sometimes teaching the children things learned within the school as he wanted them to stay away from illegal activities.

It is about depriving of positive human qualities, of spreading false beliefs, of absurd promises, of irrational principles, of moral retraction and of concealment of identity that promote evil paths.

Someone will arise to defend those who lack the power to fight back. The courage to protect someone from harm is a duty to champion a moral cause without expecting any reward in return.

In many encounters, one couldn’t help but wonder who is hiding behind the mask; Mr. Motly respectfully replied to them, “Super Mustache Man.”
