Graphic T-Shirts: What You Need To Know

Posted by admin

Graphic tees come with that intricate and unique graphic design popular with teens and young adults these days. This type of shirt usually has a screen print on the front but there are also other shirts that have designs located on the sides, on the back or perhaps on the sleeves. Graphic T-shirts have been around the fashion industry for years, but became extremely popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s as more and more designers and clothing lines took advantage of graphic design techniques by using of technology and computers.

The term ‘graphic t-shirt’ was also used to describe t-shirts with images, rather than to describe their fit or style. Some of the popular terms associated with it include ‘vintage’ which describes both its fit and style, ‘pocket’ which pertains only to the style, and ‘athletic’ which describes its fit only. The word “novel” refers to a T-shirt with nasty, humorous, or witty phrases printed on it. But novelty t-shirts can also be considered graphic t-shirts, especially the ones with images.

The images found on these t-shirts range from randomly licensed cartoon or movie characters to music bands and even company logos. Graphic tees are widely available for both genders and even all age groups. Graphic tees featuring licensed characters are those created by Nickelodeon, Caron Network and Disney. They are also popular choices with children. On the other hand, older kids prefer brand logos and other artwork developed by emerging music boards.

With modern technological advances such as computer imaging, iron-on transfer paper, and printers, it has become convenient for many people to make their own graphic designs for t-shirts. Companies that offer to develop graphic t-shirts from personal designs are also common these days and allow kids and novice designers easy access to custom t-shirts.

Today’s hottest graphic t-shirt designs are bringing back ‘retro’. These t-shirts feature superheroes, like the recognizable Superman ‘S’ print, the Twister game, Frankberry cereal, and even classic TV shows (Brady Bunch, for example). Tattoo art on t-shirts is also becoming popular, as are skulls and t-shirts that have been washed just to have that faded, vintage look.
