High Roller Ferris Wheel at the Linq

The Strip is home to the world famous High Roller, which is located on the far corner of Linq, the Promenade. Tourists can enjoy the best views of the strip and its surroundings while riding in a capsule of the gigantic Ferris wheel, which is 550 feet high and takes half an hour to make a complete revolution. The cabin has capacity for 40 people. The views are especially impressive at night with the city fully lit up.

New York – New York Hotel

The NewYork -New York Hotel in Las Vegas is located across from the MGM Grand Hotel and the Excalibur Hotel. The spectacular looking hotel is designed to resemble the New York skyline with the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge to top it off. There is also a giant roller coaster that goes into and around the hotel.

Caesar’s Palace and the Colosseum

Caesar’s Palace is one of the most popular hotel complexes in Las Vegas as it continues to progress. Today, Caesar’s Palace is a huge complex in the center of the Strip and has every possible entertainment option. Most people closely associate the hotel with the shows that take place in its huge concert hall called “El Coliseo”.

Popular celebrities (such as Celine Dione and Elton John) entertain guests for an extended period, and shows usually sell out well before showtime. Therefore, tourists planning to see a performance at this venue should check the dates and ticket availability in advance.

The National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, also called the Nevada Mob Museum, is a museum that stands out for its uniqueness. It is located inside a 1933 neoclassical building, which used to be the US Post Office and Courthouse which has its own history. This was one of the locations of the famous 1950 Kefauver Committee hearings, which revealed some ugly realities about organized crime in Las Vegas and across the United States.

The museum tells about the history of the US mob through video clips and engaging interactive exhibits. The exhibits have something to do with people, events, culture and fashion that are relevant to the times.

Shark Reef Aquarium and Mandalay Bay

Another popular tourist spot on the southwestern end of the Strip is the Mandalay Bay Resort, which is close to the Luxor hotel. One of the resort’s main attractions is the Shark Reef Aquarium. It has a giant 1,300,000 gallon tank that is home to a wide variety of fish, reptiles, sharks, rays, and marine invertebrates.

There are around 100 sharks from 15 different species and over 2,000 animals on display. Its most impressive feature is the Shark Tunnel. Shark Reef has an accreditation from the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and works with wildlife biologists in the preservation of endangered marine and lake populations, as well as the rehabilitation of injured animals.
