St Pete Beach compared to Treasure Island Florida

Posted by admin

As a real estate agent, I get this question a lot, what is the difference between Saint Pete Beach and Treasure Island? They both have a lot of charm, but it’s a different kind of charm. Once you live here, it doesn’t matter anymore because you’ll be going back and forth between the two cities (together they are probably 5 miles long) but when you first come here, Treasure Island looks different than Saint Pete’s beach.

The other day I was at St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island, taking photos for some of my posts. Looking through the camera lens, I suddenly had to stop and think, these two little beach towns here on the Gulf of Mexico are so different. Yes, I know, it sounds strange Treasure Island and St. Pete Beach are next to each other, there is only a small bridge between them. So how can they be so different? They share practically the same history, the same location and were found almost at the same time.

Well I don’t really know how it happened, but trust me, St. Pete Beach and Treasure Island have gone different paths at one point and time. Not only do they have a different feel, but they look different. St. Pete Beach has by far the nicest sidewalks, the nicest landscaping, the nicest lighting, the palm trees, all along with the nicest curb appeal when it comes to Gulf Blvd. It looks inviting, organized, well-kept and friendly, a bit exclusive. Treasure Island (and please don’t get me wrong, I love Treasure Island and live on Treasure Island) but Gulf Blvd, it looks a bit shabby.

The sidewalks are not that great, there are hardly any gardens, the lighting is old and you will still find some very old and tiny houses along Gulf Blvd. To sum it all up. I’d say St. Pete Beach looks “polished”. Treasure Island looks a bit rough. Like if you had a first date and put on all your makeup and your prettiest clothes (that would be St. Pete’s beach), verses, you had a long night and woke up with a hangover (that would be Treasure Island)
