When using Google Analytics, you will find a couple of different numbers. Do not stress! The main thing you need to focus on is your keyword competition. When you choose a keyword, Google Analytics will tell you how high the competition is for those keywords. Be careful. If you are not a big corporation and you choose a high competition keyword, chances are you will not rank. Type in your keyword and find a similar keyword that has a “low” level of competition.

Another point, don’t use your keyword on more than one page. If you choose a keyword for a page, be sure to search for a similar but not exact keyword. Choosing the same keyword for more than one page can cause your pages to fight for the top spot. Your pages will work against each other to rank, which will likely cause them to not rank at all.

If you need to use the same keyword, convert one page to a “final” article page. This will separate the most important page from the page that has the same keyword. But only use this if you NEED it.

This will help you track the performance of your keywords. SEM Rush will also generate other reports for you. It can tell you if you have broken backlinks or if you need to create some alt texts for your images. All of these factors can help with your SEO rankings.
