MIGRAINS. Causation and healing

The most common forms of headaches are migraine, tension, and cluster headaches. The theory of migraine is usually only 1 active principle, ergotamine, the ergot alkaloid and its chemical derivatives. Over the years of this drug, the pain may increase due to ergotamine.

Three phases of migraine:

1. Previous phase. Sensitivity to light, visual, tingling sensation, dizziness or general malaise. The arteries in the brain narrow during this phase.

The head is a “pressure chamber” and the amount of interstitial fluid and blood is altered. Pain is the result. In addition, the supply of oxygen to the brain is hampered by the constriction of the capillaries and by the low velocity of blood flow that accompanies dilation. It is the hard skin layer of the brain (dura mata), the cavernous sinus, and the basilar artery that are very sensitive to pain.

• Vasodilation, the blood vessels carry excess fluid to the surrounding tissue due to the low velocity of blood flow. This is a reaction of the parasympathetic system.

Weekend Migraine During the generally quieter weekend, the decrease in high sympathetic tone due to work stress results in an over-dominance of the regenerative systems of the parasympathetic system. The consequence is a pronounced dilation of the cerebral blood vessels, which can then trigger a migraine attack. Obviously, sedative medications or the practice of meditation or similar training would be contraindicated in such migraine situations because such practices would continue to increase the parasympathetic tone.
